Peak Pure Peps is a third-party laboratory testing service for research peptides and compounds. We exist to give researchers and buyers an independent, unbiased answer to one question: does this sample contain what it claims to?

Our Story
Peak Pure Peps started with a frustration a lot of people in the research peptide space run into eventually: most of the certificates of analysis floating around online just aren’t verifiable. They come from labs with a financial relationship to the seller, they’re formatted to look official, and there’s no real way for a buyer to confirm the paper actually matches the vial in front of them. Our founding team came out of analytical chemistry and biochemistry backgrounds — people who’d spent enough time running HPLC instruments and sitting through QC audits to know what a properly documented purity analysis is supposed to look like, and what it isn’t.
So we set up a small lab and started testing samples the way we’d want them tested if we were the ones buying: no relationship to the vendor, no incentive to round a number up, and no reason to make a bad result look better than it is. We began with HPLC-UV purity and identity analysis on a handful of peptide samples a week, added endotoxin and heavy metal screening once customers started asking for them, then antimicrobial testing, and eventually anabolic steroid and steroid oil analysis once it was clear that side of the market had the exact same verification problem.
We still run out of a rented lab space in Toronto, Ontario, and we’re still small enough that someone on our team personally looks at every sample that comes through the door. That’s on purpose. This isn’t a business we’re trying to scale into an anonymous testing mill — it’s a lab we built because the research compound space needed one that had no stake in the answer.
What We Do
We test two broad categories of research compounds: peptides and other research chemicals, and anabolic steroids and steroid oils. Whichever category a sample falls into, it goes through the same core testing menu — HPLC-UV purity and identity analysis to confirm concentration and confirm the compound matches its label, bacterial endotoxin (LAL) screening, heavy metal screening for lead, arsenic, mercury, and cadmium, and antimicrobial (TAMC/TYMC) testing for microbial contamination. We’re not running full toxicology panels or screening for every conceivable contaminant. Our menu is built around the purity, identity, and contamination questions that come up most often for people actually working with these compounds.
Every sample is logged under its own reference number the moment it arrives, tested against that reference only, and reported back as a Certificate of Analysis tied to the account that submitted it. We don’t publish results publicly, we don’t identify who submitted a sample, and the only people who can view a completed COA are the account holder and anyone they choose to hand their reference number and private key to.

Our results describe the sample we received and the method we used to test it — they are not an evaluation of safety, and they are not intended to inform human or veterinary use in any way. Peak Pure Peps makes no determination about the legality, safety, or suitability of any compound for any purpose, and accepts no responsibility for how a customer chooses to use a compound after receiving results. How Testing Works
Getting a sample tested follows the same handful of steps no matter what you’re sending in. You place an order through Request Testing and choose which tests you want run. You ship the sample to our lab at your own cost, and we log it against your order once it arrives. From there, our team runs the testing menu you selected, which usually takes 5 to 9 business days depending on how much volume we’re working through. When testing wraps up, your Certificate of Analysis is issued straight to your account — you can pull it up any time from My Account, or hand the reference number and private key to anyone else you want to see it.
One thing worth knowing before you order: HPLC and the other screening methods we run consume or damage the material being tested, so samples aren’t returned once testing is complete. Our Refund and Returns Policy has the full details.
Who We Work With
The people who send us samples tend to fall into a few groups. There are independent researchers who want confirmation of what’s actually in a compound before they use it in further study. There are small formulators and resellers who want an outside, unbiased check before they put their name behind a batch. And there are buyers who’ve been handed a vendor’s in-house certificate before, had no way to confirm it was accurate, and want a second opinion from a lab with no relationship to the seller. We don’t sell compounds ourselves, and we don’t have a commercial relationship with any vendor whose products end up on our bench — that separation is the entire point.
